aipp — Infrastructure for digital actions and Smart Tags
Last Updated: August 2026
01 Software and Settlement Model
aipp is Smart Tag and payment-automation software. Legal classification depends on deployment and jurisdiction.
aipp allows creators and developers to attach a price tag to digital assets, links and content. In the hosted Lightning flow, buyer funds may reach aipp before the merchant amount is forwarded.
Merchants specify a Lightning Address or EVM payout destination.
aipp does not require merchant wallet private keys.
Hosted payment flows may receive funds before automatically forwarding merchant proceeds. aipp does not provide a general-purpose merchant spending balance.
02 Nature of the 3% Platform Fee
aipp charges a software service fee of 3% per successful transaction ($0 monthly, $0 setup). For Lightning, the fee is 3% + 5 sats per successful transaction. For Base USDC, the fee is 3% ($0.001 minimum fee). Failed transactions are not charged.
The fee supports operation and development of the hosted software.
The checkout discloses the gross price, aipp service fee, and merchant net proceeds.
This page makes no legal conclusion about custody, money transmission, tax or licensing status.
03 Limitation of Liability & Warranty Disclaimer
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. In no event shall the developers or contributors be liable for any claim, damages, financial losses, system downtimes, or other liability arising from the use of the software.
Any merchant running an instance of aipp on their own server is solely responsible for compliance with their local regulations, including tax reporting and financial licenses.
04 Privacy Policy & Chrome Web Store Data Disclosures
aipp.dev is designed from the ground up to respect user and merchant privacy:
Minimal Data Collection: We collect only the data strictly necessary to operate the Smart Tag software — your public Lightning Address and/or Base USDC wallet address (used solely as payout destinations for automated settlement). We do not collect names, national IDs, browsing history, or personal identifiers. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising networks, or third-party analytics.
Merchant Authentication Credentials: The aipp Chrome Extension generates or stores a Merchant API Key locally on your device in chrome.storage.local. This key is used exclusively to authenticate requests to mint and update your Smart Tags, transmitted strictly over TLS via the X-Api-Key header to the aipp backend. It is never included in public Smart Tag URLs, never embedded in copied snippets, and never used for tracking.
Smart Tag Metadata & Target URLs: When you generate a Quick Link or Smart Tag, the specified title, price, and target content URL are sent to the aipp backend to create the payment link and fulfill post-payment redirection. This metadata is used solely for transaction fulfillment and is never used to track your browsing activity across websites.
Local DOM Interaction & Webpage Access: The browser extension requests site access only when you explicitly click to attach a Smart Tag to a webpage element. The contents of selected DOM elements are processed entirely locally in your browser to render a visual preview and generate the embed snippet. Selected page content and DOM source are never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
Non-Custodial Architecture: aipp does not manage, store, or request cryptocurrency private keys, seed phrases, or wallet passwords. Settlements are forwarded directly to your designated payout address.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use Compliance: The use of information received from Google APIs by the aipp Chrome Extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. User data is never sold, transferred to third parties for unrelated purposes, or used for credit scoring or advertising.
No Cryptocurrency Mining: The aipp browser extension does not engage in cryptocurrency mining, background distributed computing, or unauthorized hardware utilization. It operates solely as a user-initiated creator monetization tool.
Data Retention & Storage: Data is retained only as necessary to provide the Smart Tag service, maintain transaction ledgers, and operate your merchant configuration. Automated background workers expire unpaid invoices after 1 hour, while fully inactive test accounts with zero transaction activity and zero pending balance over 30 days are automatically purged.
