Legal Disclaimer & License Agreement

Last Updated: July 15, 2026

AIPP.dev is an open-source, non-custodial payment routing software designed to be deployed and operated by merchants and AI agents on their own self-hosted infrastructure. This document outlines the legal status of the software, terms of use, and the nature of the platform fees.

1. Non-Custodial Software Status

AIPP.dev developers and contributors do not provide banking, custody, money transmission, or exchange services.

  • The software is designed to instantly route payments directly to destinations specified by the user (Lightning Address or EVM wallet addresses).
  • Developers have no access to, control over, or possession of users' private keys, funds, or databases.

2. Nature of the 1% Platform Fee

The flat 1% routing fee applied by AIPP.dev is not a financial commission or money transmission service fee.

  • This fee is a "Decentralized Software Routing & Licensing Fee" designed to support the ongoing development, updates, and maintenance of the open-source software and its ecosystem.
  • Paralleling standard practices in Web3 and decentralized finance (DeFi) (such as MetaMask Swap fees or Uniswap router fees), this split is executed autonomously at the software code level. Funds are never pooled, held, or custodied by the developers before distribution.

3. Limitation of Liability & Warranty Disclaimer

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. In no event shall the developers or contributors be liable for any claim, damages, financial losses, system downtimes, or other liability arising from the use of the software. Any merchant running an instance of AIPP on their own server is solely responsible for compliance with their local regulations, including tax reporting and financial licenses.

4. Privacy Policy

AIPP.dev is designed from the ground up to respect user and merchant privacy:

  • No Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or share any personal information.
  • No Tracking: We do not use cookies, tracking scripts, or analytics tools.
  • Local Databases: All transactional database records (e.g. invoice logs) are stored locally in the merchant's own self-hosted SQLite instance, completely private to the node operator.
